Fidel Moreno will join us at Soul Bloom Festival to speak to us about the organization’s work.
Fidel Moreno is Huichol & Chichineca and Mexican American. He was morning on the Southside of Chicago and also lived with his maternal great grandmother, Rafaela and maternal grandmother, Aurora and relatives in Coloctlan Jalisco, a Huichol mountain community 6 hours from Guadalajara Mexico. Fidel is an indigenous celebrant, ceremonialist, nature as art educator, master mentor and storycatcher. Fidel worked 9 years as a gang interventionist, 22 suicude preventionist and 18 years as a grief counselor and rebirth ( death ) doula. Fidel is working 28 years in restorative justice and a youth advocate and his passion is working with troubled and challenged children and families being impacted by addiction to social media and video gaming. Fidel makes his home both in Ithaca NY and and Houston TX and South TX.
